Happy Holidays

Well it's almost Christmas time.  10 more days to go.  As a retailer on Etsy the build up has been exhausting.  I have had a pen, a crochet hook, a blank tshirt or beads and wire in my hands constantly since October the first except when I'm actually at the office getting paid to work. Now the online shopping is slowing down as shipping will be harder to guarantee for Christmas. Now I can take a breath.  I'm so looking forward to getting out of town for a week or so and exploring San Francisco.  I've never had the opportunity to hang out and explore so I'm looking forward to it.  Things are about to quiet down for the winter and I can start working towards getting everything ready for spring. The life of an independent business owner sounds strange, never thought I would work for myself now I can't imagine not.  Life is funny that way.  Well Happy Holidays to one and all.

Thankful!

There are so many things to be thankful for friendship, love, abundance, beauty, etc... Each day is a present filled with bright beautiful color that tickles my spirit.  I haven't had much time for the beach but I'm thinking I need to take a break and take a walk here soon.  Lot's of things coming out of the workshop, well really its the work chair but eventually there might be a workshop. It doesn't matter much the clothes, the jewelry, the painting will continue to flow as long as my hands allow.  I'm at the office 3 days a week now which kind of eats up creative time but the lure of steady income is strong. Thank you to everyone who purchases an item it keeps the supplies coming to create more things. Stop by www.nancyyoder.com and check out the links to all my stores, blogs, photos and all kinds of tidbits.
Joy to all,
Nancy

Autumn is here

Well I think its time to drag out the comforter and think about turning on the heat. It was a beautiful summer so nice and warm, but now I'm ready for the cooling weather and getting all my sweaters out. I've been so inspired to make shrugs and sweaters, lots of hats too. Stop by Sheila's Attic or Nancy's Tie Dye over on Etsy to see the latest editions to the fall line up. I have new yarn that is just waiting to be turned into something warm and fuzzy. Mom is going to be busy too, we have a bunch of upholstery scraps that are looking like purses and backpacks to me.

Getting Ready for Fall

Well the summer has been beautiful and warm, everything it should be. The swimming, the barbeques and all the things that make up summer. We had a great visit with family on vacation, friends down for the weekend and lots of other memorable summer happenings. All these things together make for such a wonderful life. Now the weather is starting to cool just a touch and fall is just around the corner, the colors and leaves waiting to explode in orange, red and yellow. Well my thoughts have been turning to the cooler weather and the crochet needle came out. I have a few new shrugs available that are great for an evening wrap or to layer over a long sleeve t later in the fall. Stop by Sheilasattic.etsy.com or www.facebook.com\nancystiedye to check out photos of what I've been doing and to see where I'm listing new items.
Thanks for stopping by and check out www.nancyyoder.com if you have a chance links to all my stores, photos and more.

It's been such a busy month here in beautiful Toledo.  The weather is mild and dry.  I've had a new store opening to get ready for, I started my own website at www.nancyyoder.com and Pirates Plunder sales have been good.  Now things are leveling out a little it's time to get out to the yard and get some dirt moved around and make a place to be comfortable relaxing outside on those hot August nights to come.

Make sure and stop by my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/nancystiedye and www.nancyyoder.com to see all that is new and bright.  And as always stop and smell the roses life is short so make it sweet and memorable.
Ciao,
Nancy

July is here...

Summer finally is in full swing here in the beautiful northwest.  It often is rainy far into the summer in these parts but its mild and everything is green which makes everything OK in my eyes.

I have been dutifully working on tie dye, phone cases and dragging things out of the attic for the antique mall. I have a new load of Alternative Apparel tee shirts that should be here Monday so I will get those done Monday evening hopefully.  A full week ahead with hitting the beach for the 4th, working on Tuesday at the desk job, Monday tie dyeing and acupuncture.  Oh and down to Pirates Plunder to get more in stock.

Summertime

It's officially summer now, Yay... I love the long days and the sunshine.  I'm not as much of a sun worshipper now.  I tend to cover up the skin a little more and wear large hats. Speaking of hats I ordered a bunch of hats for Pirates Plunder they should be fun. I also put a bunch of skirts in the store, here's hoping they do well.
I put some shell jewelry out and I make a few rings every couple of evenings to keep my supply up. Well another busy day.  All my packages are ready this afternoon and I am off to the Post Office, then back here to make a few new listings on Etsy.

More Tie Dye

It was a lovely day at the Beach and the farmers market this morning then into the kitchen to work.  I've been tie dyeing and getting things ready to go into Pirates Plunder.  I've also been getting things done to put into the Etsy store too so a little busy right now.
It is always joyous to pull that load of tie dye from the dryer and look at what comes out.  You never know how your luck will hold out but I think it's a good batch.  Lots of color and pretty flowing skirts, maybe I should go dancing next.

June 22 2012

Well the blog post the other day seemed to have been a nice little introduction on Etsy.  I had over 600 hits on my Saltlandia.etsy.com site and some sales were generated also, Yay...

For today I'm going to get my little smoker going and smoke some salt.  I will also be replenishing my rosemary salt supply too. Then while my salt is smoking I will get back to my tie dye.  I have some new colors I have mixed up and some new designs I have been working on so I will have photos for those in the next couple of days.

I will attach a few photos from the last few days, if you see something you like head over to nancystiedye.etsy.com and pick it up.

Pirates Plunder

See I'm back so soon. It's amazing what happens when you set an alarm and it tells you to do something.

Today I will be working on somethings for Pirates Plunder. Pirates Plunder is an antique/craft mall in Newport next to the aquarium. I have it filled about 75% right now and working on that last little bit. I have jewelry, t shirts, sweatshirts, hand drawn cards and a few antiques. I have a few sun dresses I'm going to dye today to stick down there and maybe some Ipad cases. I'm also patiently waiting for my shipment of phone cases so I can get them turned into original art works, they will also go in the booth. Make sure and stop by whenever you are in Newport.

This summer has been busy so far and it will probably get a lot busier but there will always be time to head to the beach.

 Thanks
 Nancy

Things New and Old

Well I have missed out on my blog here but will set a reminder on my phone so I will be more regular. Allowing my phone to take some of my cognitive load is ever so helpful and I'm hoping to find a little more time to do all the little things. On to business, new stuff posted in Sheila's Attic. Sheila's Attic is our vintage finds, handmade clothes and miscellaneous art work, jewelry, etc... Nancy's Tie Dye will be just my tie dye nice and simple that way. Saltlandia is my salt infusions which will be rolled over into The Salt Distillery soon hopefully as soon as my agricultural license is taken care of. That is the lay of the land right now. Things do change and I will keep everyone up on what's going on. Right now I have some really cute dresses available at Sheila's Attic (see attached) We are also working on some maxi dresses which are just the longer version of our hippie dresses super cute for summer. Well I'm off to go do some more work in the kitchen. Thanks for stopping by, Nancy
