Play Day

Well it was just to hot to work today. I did some tie dyeing last night for http://www.ziabird.com/ for the fall collection while it was cool. It heated back up today so we headed to the beach and went south down to Florence along the way we stopped at the heceta lighthouse and took a few pics. It was just glorious. I guess I'll go lay down in the hammock until it cools down a little then I'll hit the dye sink again tonight. I have included some pics from today.

Hot Hot Hot

Thank goodness we live so close to the beach. It is about 80 here at our house, but it is almost 100 in the valley then just 5 short miles to the coast and it is 70. We went to the coast. It was a great day for picking up shells and rocks etc... It was even better not to get hot. Now I know I have work to do and I will get to it just as soon as the sun sets. It cools off really quickly here when the sun goes down then the ocean breezes kick on shore and cools it all down. Gotta love the Oregon coast. I'll stick a picture up from Seal Rock just south of Newport. I am working on Ziabird new fall colors, new alternative apparel should be some really pretty items. I will be posting some of the items when I get them done tomorrow. They will be dyed tonight and through the wash cycles tomorrow.

REduce, REuse, REcycle

Went to the farmers market Saturday and loaded up on all the great bounty. Then it was back to work. Mom made some denim bags from some repurposed denim that are great, nice and tough. The handles are reinforced, then I added some drawings on side. These are great for purses, grocery totes or just a book bag. These are the pictures I've included with this posting. I have more than the photographed ones so if your interested let me know and I can get some more photos up. I have been working on the main site a lot and will continue to do so. I have things to post but I am waiting until I get the site the way it needs to be then I will start posting items for sale. There are things on the main site for sale just not nearly as much as there will be in the next incarnation. If you have any questions please let me know.

Clean Up

Well been in the work studio most of the day. I've sorted and picked several new pieces to dye for one of a kinds and now I'm ready to get to the dyeing. Mom made some denim grocery tote type bags out of some repurposed denim so they are tough and they look good. I think maybe I'll put one or two in my Etsy store. The http://www.nancysnaturalsllc.com/ will be going through some drastic changes, things will be eliminated and new sections will be set up. I'm going to have reproducable designs and colors for customized tshirts. There will also be handmade clothing some tie dyed some not so check out what pop's up. Remember when you shop with us everything you purchase is either made by myself or my mom whether that be clothing (hopefully repurposed fabric we try to keep as much out of the landfill as possible) tie dyeing or accessories, the only exception is when we purchase blanks for tie dyeing. Well going to head in to Portland for the weekend and see friends. I've got a few dresses mom has been working on. One of them I've got tie dyed too. Grey day today overcast not much for inspiration. I've got a couple new dresses I am working on and a few shirts in the dye bath now. I have some purses that will be going out in the next order to Hawaii and some to Vivo http://www.vivoannapolis.com/ so I'm hoping they will be well recieved. Well it looks like sweat pants and a fuzzy shirt and watching a movie time. I hope all is well in the world.
